My Wish
This week’s prompt is “My Wish” for the Instagram project #portraitsofme. When it comes to Anna, I have so many wishes. I’m sure you all can imagine what some of those might be… for her to have a best friend and a boyfriend… for her to be happy… but for this particular week, I’m going to keep it simple.
My Wish is for Anna to enjoy her very first summer camp. Today we drop her off at CampCamp, a summer camp that has been highly recommended by everyone in Anna’s educational, medical, and support team. We have never left her overnight with someone outside of family and she is understandably nervous (as are we!). She will have the opportunity to canoe, kayak, swim, do archery, and ride a horse. She will make new friends. But most importantly, she will gain a sense of independence and acceptance. My wish is for Anna to have the best time of her life this week. <3
