Both of my girls celebrated major graduations this year!
Jenny earned her Master’s Degree in Law Enforcement Intelligence and Analysis from Michigan State. She was supposed to walk the stage May 1st (with all of her immediate and extended family in attendance) but the ceremony was canceled due to COVID-19. Her friends threw her a mock graduation ceremony complete with the pomp and circumstance song and a handmade diploma. She has awesome friends! I’m super excited to share that Jenny is starting her new career as a Criminal Analyst with the Texas Department of Public Safety this week. Congratulations, Jenny!!!
Anna earned her high school diploma on June 4th. Technically she graduated in December and started at Life Bridges in January this year but we wanted her to have the typical high school experience of walking the stage with her peers. After initially canceling the graduation ceremony which was to take place at the Strahan Coliseum in San Marcos, the school district was able to hold the graduation at the Canyon Lake High School football stadium. They arranged the chairs 6 feet apart and they marked off the stands so that families could maintain social distance. All of wore masks for the entire time, but barely anybody else did. Ugh!!! Anna was nervous but they allowed me to sit with her on the field and walk up to the stage. She crossed all by herself and was so proud of herself!
Because Anna was able to attend an in-person graduation ceremony, Jenny was able to come down to attend as well. She brought her cap and gown and I was able to do a quick photo-shoot with both girls before we left. We only had a few minutes, so here are some quick snaps in front of our house!
