Before the Groomer
Though I think Charlie looks much better with a full Doodle coat, he tends to get matted and bring lots of things in from the yard. So we get him groomed every 14 weeks or so. We’ve been going to the Paw Spa ever since we moved here and they do a really nice job.

After the Groomer
Charlie is so velvety smooth and soft after he gets groomed! Though the older he gets, the less he enjoys going. This time when I dropped him off, he started shaking like crazy and he wouldn’t let the groomer pluck his ears all the way. Poor guy. Hard to believe he’s 12 years old already.

Second Monitor
Dominic asked us a few weeks ago if we could help him acquire a second monitor. We looked on our neighborhood Facebook page and marketplace with no success. Curtis took him to Goodwill and $50 later, Dominic had his second monitor. Then came the cord conundrum. Without a manual, it was hard to know what we needed. 2 trips to Best Buy, 3 Amazon orders, 5 days and a lot of frustration later, Dominic finally got the second monitor to show a different screen than the first. Way to go!

Deep Clean Day
I am so very grateful that we can have Rosa Gomez and her crew come out once a month to deep clean our house. There is something very therapeutic about a clean floor for my mental health. I always wear shoes in the house because of scorpions but the rest of my family goes barefoot. I know they enjoy a clean floor too and not seeing any dirt and dog hair does wonders for my overall energy.

Two Rivers Running Redux
I was so impressed with my shoe fitting from Michelle last week at Two Rivers Running that I made an appointment for Anna. Michelle’s husband, Nick, met us there Tuesday afternoon. He measured Anna’s feet (she is a size 9) and asked a few questions about Anna’s physical abilities. He pulled a few pairs of shoes and Anna liked the first pair best (Nick joked that he runs about 90% success rate with the first pair being the winner). He also did some research about EDS and said sometimes orthotics are not as helpful as we thought. They can make the foot weaker as it is relying on the orthotic to do a lot of the muscular work. Interesting huh?

Horizon Roofing Inspection
When we first moved to River Chase, the inspector found some issues with the roof. That’s when we met Mike with Horizon Roofing who fixed said issues as part of the sale of the house. Over the last 7 years, Mike has taken wonderful care to help us with small leaks and repairs. Since we’ve had several bad hail storms this spring, it was time for an inspection. Looks like there is enough damage to get the roof replaced so I started the claim process with our insurance company. Can’t wait to have Mike do the work!
New Logo
Mike shared with me that he was able to purchase Horizon Roofing recently and that he helped redesign their logo. I had to snap a photo for him, the thumbs up sun is so stinkin’ cute!

Bee on a Mexican Hat
Can you guess my favorite pastime (besides playing Township)? Yep, wandering the yard looking for insects. I found this bee on a Mexican Hat coneflower in our empty lot. I had to shoot through the fence for the first shot and over the fence for the second. Not bad!
Bee From Above
This is the over the fence shot of the bee from above. I cropped in super tight so you can see the detail better. Love this composition!
Thanks for looking!
