Macro Mondays: String

This week’s theme for the Flickr Macro Mondays group is “String.” From this week’s instructions (via Moderator Helen Orozco):

This week our theme will be STRING and to be clear here is the definition of string for this week’s theme: String is material consisting of threads of cotton, hemp, or other material twisted together to form a thin length.

PLEASE NOTE: Any photos showing a set of things tied, strung or threaded together on a thin cord such as lights, pearls, beads etc., is not what we are looking for and will be removed. Please look in the gallery to give you to give you the idea of the theme requirements and your inspiration.

String in the Garden

For as long as I can remember, my mom has loved to garden. She always has plants and flowers lining her porch and a variety of plants, flowers, and bushes in her garden beds. She also loves wind chimes and outdoor art work. For this week’s theme of “String” for the Flickr Macro Mondays group, I went on the hunt and discovered that we have very little string around the house. So I wandered outside and eventually found my way over to my mom’s side of the yard. I noticed that she has three metal pieces of art hanging in her trees so I investigated how they were attached… aha! String! These pieces have been hanging in her fairy garden for nearly six years so the twine has become very weather worn. I love how this composition makes a golden triangle and I especially love the rust and patina on the piece of art at the bottom. I purposely shot just the attached piece of the string in focus and left the rest of the image out of focus since it was my primary subject. <3
