This week’s theme for the Flickr Macro Mondays group is “Footwear.” From this week’s instructions (via Moderator Helen Orozco):
We all have our favourites to wear when it comes to our shoes, sneakers, trainers, boots, slippers, clogs, flip flops, sandals or socks. So this week our theme is FOOTWEAR.
For this week’s theme let’s look a little closer at our footwear and take a macro of part of them. There’s a lot that can be photographed on your chosen footwear. Of course there are other types of footwear not already mentioned and that is fine. Please tell us what type your footwear is by mentioning it in your caption or in the tags. It really is a great help to us.
NO feet or parts of your foot should be shown in your photo. It’s all about what you wear and not about your feet.

Light-Up Shoes for Grown-Ups
When browsing Facebook a few months ago, an ad popped up for LED light-up shoes for adults. I was intrigued because my oldest daughter has always loved light-up shoes but they don’t make them for grown-ups. As she had recently graduated with her Master’s Degree, I wanted to get her a fun, whimsical gift to celebrate in addition to her real gift. So I ordered a pair (available on Amazon if anyone is curious). OMG, they were so cool that everyone in our immediate family wanted a pair too. There is a little button on the back of the shoe that changes the color… options include red, blue, green, yellow, purple, white, and then pulses of all the colors at different intervals. They charge via USB. Our son was enchanted with them so we got him a pair for his birthday in July. When I saw the theme of “footwear” for this week’s Macro Mondays, I asked Dominic if I could borrow a shoe to photograph. Here we are looking at the back of the shoe and heel.
I also got this view looking down the length of the shoe but it was too long to meet the Macro Mondays requirement of being 3 inches and didn’t look as good cropped.
Thanks for looking!
