Macro Mondays: Plugs and Jacks

Monday, April 30th, 2018

This week’s theme for the Flickr Macro Monday group is “Plugs and Jacks.” From this week’s instructions (from Hans Holt):

Plugs and/or Jacks
If you think this theme will deliver a monotonous Monday, I promise you are wrong.
Plugs (the male end) are the things at the end of a cable that can be inserted into a
Jack, Socket or Port (the female end).
There are even hermaphroditic connectors.

Plugs can be electrical (power plugs) or of the connector type (used with computers, ethernet, telephone).
– There are many, very many types of power plugs used in the world:
– And there are even more types of computer connectors:

Make your photos stand out from the others by using color, depth of field, bokeh and composition. I’ve put together a gallery of examples to illustrate the variety of the subject:… I can’t imagine there is need for further clarification, but I know there will always be members that want to know if ear plugs are allowed (no!), or the kind of plugs you find on adult sites (certainly not!). I want to see only the ones with an attached cable for electricity or data transport. Please tag your photos with “Macro Mondays” and this week’s theme “Plugs and Jacks”.

Headphones Help Her

Because of Anna’s sensory issues related to her autism, she often gets overwhelmed in noisy environments. Headphones help her cope with loud, unpredictable places. These are especially helpful to her because they are wireless (charging with a USB jack) and are a bright color so they are easy to find. Anna always wears them on the bus ride home from school and they help block out noise from the engine, the other students, and other vehicles. Headphones really do help her.
