My Inner Child

This week’s prompt is “My Inner Child” for the Instagram project #portraitsofme. I didn’t participate last week since I was traveling home from Orlando and I was sooo tired. This week’s prompt was easy for me because I actively work on staying in touch with my inner child. Having kids makes it easy, and Anna in many way will always be a child, so parenting her keeps my spirit young. My mom also makes it easy; she’s always enjoyed coloring and always had a modest collection of adult coloring books and pencils as long as I can remember. Once she retired, she really got into more after the adult coloring book craze hit the mainstream. Since then, she’s invested in quality coloring pencils (Prismacolor and Faber-Castell are the best) and has a gorgeous collection of coloring books. We don’t color together as much as we used to, but it’s fun to work on our pages together when we can find the time. Mom, thanks for sharing your creative space and beautiful supplies with me!
