Favorite Cliché
This week’s prompt is “Favorite Cliché” for the Instagram project #portraitsofme. I thought this theme was a little hokey to be perfectly honest and I struggled all week with what to do. I actually hate cliches and avoid using them but my grandfather, whom I called Pappy, had one that always resonated with me… Today is the First Day of the Rest of Your Life.
I got up early this morning, around 5:30 a.m., to have some coffee, get dressed, load my gear, and head to the Canyon Lake Dam in order to greet the sunrise. I’ve made a lot of changes this year and have gained some sorely needed confidence. This week, Curtis and I completed a 3-day juice cleanse to detox after vacation. We feel GREAT. In fact, we have continued to juice for morning and lunch even after the three days were up. This is our first experience juicing and the hype is real people.

iPhone Sunrise
I took this one just before the sun came up. I was checking my focus and settings and if you zoom in, you can actually see me focused in the center of my iPhone since I was using the Nikon WMU app to control my camera. Pretty cool!
