Rule of Thirds ~ Therapy

This week’s prompt is “rule of thirds” for the Instagram project #portraitsofme. This is Becky Davis (512.441.2060), my therapist in Austin that’s been part of my life for 25 years. She is helping me figure out the root causes of my anxiety, helping me with some aging and body image issues, and helping me heal some very old “stuck” issues. I love her space, she’s in an older house down off South Congress, and the jewel tones are so inviting in her office. I set up the tripod in her vestibule where clients wait, opened the door to peek in at us working, and fired the shutter remotely. I’m smack in the middle of the left rule of thirds line, with the door nicely framing the scene along the outer edges of the rule of thirds grid. Becky is centered in the frame. What was particularly nice about this visit is that my aunt Jeannette (we call her Beanie) and her husband Charles are visiting from Pennsylvania. Beanie has worked with Becky via Skype and she came with me for her own session in person. We had the nicest time chatting in the car on the way there and on the way home.
