Ever since I can remember, I’ve attracted birds. If I sit outside, birds alight nearby. I had budgerigars as a young adult and now I’m caring for Anna’s budgie that she won at the carnival last year. If I sit outside or near a window for any length of time, birds come close.
Last weekend we had beautiful weather and spent a lot of time in our backyard. I heard a large flapping noise and saw this dove fly from one side of our roof to the other. It was a really large bird. I watched it for a while, cooed at it, then decided to go inside and grab my camera with the macro lens attached. When I came back out, I was disappointed to see that the dove had flown away. Not 30 seconds later, it flies back and lands on the roof just above our master patio… even closer than before. It sat there and talked with me for at least 10 minutes and I got nearly 90 shots of it.
This one was one of my favorites.
