The Photographer Within’s Project 52 ~ A Year in Song has been challenging, rewarding, and inspiring… and we made it to Week 52!!! Our lyrical prompt for Week 52 of The Photographer Within‘s P52 Year in Song was from Love is All Around by The Troggs and the lyrics we had to shoot were: “I feel it in my fingers, I feel it in my toes. Love is all around me and so the feeling grows.” This is a bittersweet week, our last prompt. I wanted something really special but I didn’t have time to really put much thought into this lyric. I got a new camera for Christmas, the Nikon D750 and spent some treasured time outside yesterday morning exploring our first frost of the winter season.
When I found this rose bud just barely blossoming and all covered with frost, I thought about the symbolism there… how life overcomes all adversity. Nature continues to flourish despite drought and frost, beauty shines through… sometimes you have to look just a little bit harder. I truly believe love is the life force that imbues every single thing, and that love can overcome hatred and evil. It’s not an easy path to forgive, to rise above, to love your enemy, to look for the good. But that path is what leads to true happiness, joy in the moment, gratitude for what’s in front of you, peace in the present. Choose love… it is all around. <3
