365 in 52 [2013] ~ Week Forty-One

It was finally a good week for Anna. We had a ton of incentives for her and focused on the positive (which to be honest is what we did the week before so I’m not sure exactly what was better but…) and she did it. Thank God. I was so happy for her. We went to see Despicable Me 2 again and we all laughed the whole way through. We still have the intake appointment with the behavioral specialist scheduled for Wednesday and will be keeping that. Her appetite is still very depressed so I called the pediatrician on Friday and argued with the nurse to get another x-ray scheduled. The x-ray showed just a small improvement so we focused the long weekend on continuing to empty her system.

Our dear family friend, Rick, lost most of his belongings in a flash flood in South Austin early Sunday morning. This is the third time his house has been flooded… this time three feet of water invaded and it was dirty with sewage. And his family was here for ACL and all of their luggage got wet. Everything is ruined.

I’m just not picking up my camera much lately. I think Anna’s behavior has me so worried that everything else feels superfluous. I’m going to try to remedy that this week.

Day 286 ~ Merry Monarch

Anytime I see a butterfly, I think of my Nanny… my Dad’s mom. Yesterday I saw two and managed to photograph one. Thanks, Nanny.

Day 286 ~ Water Droplet

We had a lot of rain in Austin this weekend and it led to lots of flash flooding all over. This tiny flower in our garden caught a perfect orb of water.

Day 287 ~ Doctor Again

Another visit with the pediatrician this morning to follow up with the other x-ray Anna had on Friday. Her poor tummy is still quite full so we are doing full-court press Miralax then meeting with a pediatric GI specialist. Playing Minion Rush helped distract her.
