I have no problem admitting that I LOVE frozen yogurt. I have been known to drive many miles in order to get dulce de leche if a shop had it available. So one day earlier this year when I was doing some shopping, I found a new FroYo shop called the Front Porch Frozen Desserts. It’s located at the southeast corner of IH35 and Texas Tollway 45 in North Austin… which I’m happy to say is just a few miles from my home. The inside of the shop is charming, with warm wooden walls reminding you of your grandma’s front porch. The frozen yogurt wall is clearly marked but I was most impressed with the toppings choices. There is a cold well area with fresh fruit, real whipped cream, and crushed candy bars. There are two areas on the walls which offer more toppings as well as a table with gorgeous glass jars containing the most delicious delectables including whole cookies like fudge-covered grahams and Nutter Butters. They get freshly baked cookies and brownies from a local bakery too. Yummy!!! I have never seen anything like it! My first visit was so delightful and the staff was so warm and welcoming, that I brought my entire family back that very evening to try it out. The quality of their frozen yogurt and frozen custard is top notch. There is fun music playing which you can also change with an app on your phone! We signed up for their reward program through Goody Bag where with each visit we earn credit toward a free FroYo. I’m proud to say that we were their first family to attain Platinum status with their reward system!
Within a few weeks, we were visiting the Front Porch at least twice a week. They change out their flavors just often enough to keep things fresh and they are always combining flavors into the most delicious combinations. We got to be on a first name basis with the owners, Lynn and Steve. They are always incredibly kind to Anna and are willing to chat with her about her current obsession, the Minions from Despicable Me. Lynn is a longtime Weight Watcher like me, my mom, and Curtis, so we talk about our weight loss triumphs and struggles. By the way, their FroYo is 1 WW point per ounce and the custard is 2 WW points per ounce. 🙂
If you are in the Austin or Central Texas area, make time to stop by the Front Porch and say hello to Lynn and Steve. They will welcome you warmly and you will absolutely love their frozen yogurt. Tell them that Holly, Curtis, and Shirley sent you! 🙂
Thanks for looking!!!
