As busy as the last week of school was, this last week was lazy and it was awesome. The kids and I went swimming (Daddy came too!), we went to the rec center, we played outside, and today we went to Teacher Heaven and loaded up on summer workbooks. Anna and I walked to the big park one day and I took my camera… which led to some wonderful macro shots.
Day 159 ~ Cozy
Early in the day, I spy Charlie all cuddled up with the blanket on the couch. He’s so funny… he always finds the pillow or the blanket to sleep on. Smart pup!
Day 159 ~ Broken
Anna and I walked to the mail box and I see this tiny baby bird egg shell on the sidewalk. I wonder what kind of bird hatched from this?
Day 159 ~ Fallen Feather
At the big park, Anna is on the swing and I go hunting for good macro fodder. I see this little feather and try to get a shot of it where it lay. My attempts soon attracted a crowd of little girls, they were adorable.
Day 159 ~ The Texture of Childhood
After Anna got off the swing, I look down and see the rust on the swing. I’m instantly transported to my childhood, remembering the smell of wet rust on my hands after swinging for hours on the playground.
Day 159 ~ Puppy Portrait
This is our neighbor’s dog, Tika. She is the sweetest little thing, always greeting us with a wag of her tail.
Day 159 ~ Antennae
Little bug on a little flower.
Day 159 ~ Field of Flowers
I can’t remember what these flowers are called, but they always grow behind our house every summer. I wish the kids liked sitting in them for photos!
Day 161 ~ Illuminated Deluge
Usually, Anna takes her shower at night, but I let her skip it last night and shower this morning. I peeked in at her to see how she was doing and saw the light hitting the spray of the shower… she looked so pretty.
Thanks for looking! I hope your summer starts off as great as ours!
