I’m participating in a fun 12-month challenge at Clickin Moms called “The Way I View.” Each month a group of 12 CM photographers interpret that month’s theme through photographs, then link to each other’s blogs.
November is all about Thanksgiving, gratitude, and being thankful… and this month’s Way I View is called Blessings. A friend of mine posted this video before Thanksgiving from a Ted Talks session. It’s called Gratitude by Louie Schwartzberg and it had a profound impact on me. If you have about 10 minutes I recommend you watch it.
There was a day before Thanksgiving that I woke to a beautiful sunrise and I had an unexpected pocket of 20 minutes. I love found time… it is such a gift. I ended up at the Cherrywood Coffee House and I happened to have my macro lens and my mom with me. She said in those 20 minutes, where I lost all sense of time, that I looked like a little kid at the playground. I found pretty flowers, gorgeous light that played with evergreen needles, a golden spiral in a table top, criss-cross lines (I love lines!), and a new friend in a black bird. Those 20 minutes refreshed my soul, fed my inner artist, and made me so incredibly grateful for the blessings I have. Enjoy the photos.
