The My Four Hens Project 52 theme this week is Up Close and Personal. I was so excited to see this theme because it gave me an excuse to break out my macro lens again… my favorite! I was exploring the field behind my house when these tiny white flowers caught my eye. Each blossom is only 1/2″ across. I took a few photos, then chimped only to discover a teeny, tiny, baby grasshopper hanging out behind one of the flowers. I spent the next 10 minutes or so trying to get a better view… he kept darting behind the blossom just like a squirrel hides behind a tree trunk. But I got this shot after talking with him for a while… this is as up close and personal as I could get. This baby grasshopper must be only been a few millimeters long; his eyes are still translucent! Such an amazing sight. <3
